Access Panels

Access Panels come in a variety of types, sizes and finishes to suit most situations and all budgets. They are best used for providing access to an area, yet conceiling any unattractive services. Access Panels offer a quick and easy solution to your access requirements.

 

Access Panels are commonly used in bathrooms, utility rooms, kitchens and any other areas where access to stop cocks, pipes, electrical cables and other utilities is required while at the same time concealing them behind a white metal, plastic or plasterboard door.

 

There are many different types of access panels. By far the cheapest and most cost effective are plastic access panels. These can come with either hinged or pop out doors and are only available with a picture frame. These are white in colour and come in a range of sizes from 225 x 150mm to 464 x 464mm. Plastic Access Panels are ideal for use in bathrooms due to the water resistant material they are made of. In order for them to be water resistant once installed it is important to use acrylic bathroom sealant to seal both the frame and the door.

Metal door access panels come with either a screwdriver lock or budget key lock, fire rated or non fire rated, and with a beaded frame (for plastering or taping and jointing) or a picture frame. Metal door access panels are available for use in either walls or ceilings. Metal door access panels come pre-finished in polyester powder coated paint in RAL9010 white colour

 

Plasterboard door access panels are only available with a budget lock as standard, fire rated or non fire rated, and with a beaded frame (for plastering or taping and jointing) or a picture frame. Plasterboard door access panels are available for use in either walls or ceilings. Plasterboard door access panels require plastering and painting, thus requiring more work to finish, however giving the benefit of matching in exactly with the plastered wall or ceiling.

 

There are also specialist access panels available:- apart from fire rated access panels, there are acoustic access panels, air tight access panels, exposed lay in grid access panels and access panels for use in metal tile ceilings.

 

All access panels (apart from plastic access panels) can be made bespokely to any size required. As a standard turnaround these are available on a 3-5 working day lead time.
