Plaster Walls

Plaster is a great way of finishing a dry lined Partition or Ceiling, or a masonry wall. It gives a seamless finish ready for decoration by emulsion paint or wallpaper. For Plastering onto Plasterboard, what is known as a “Skim Finish “ is applied at a thickness of 2mm. Skim finish plasters include British Gypsum Thistle Multifinish Plaster and British Gypsum Thistle Board Finish Plaster.

For Plastering onto Masonry, or for increasing the durability compared with a skim coat plaster finish,  a two coat plaster application is required. In the first instance an Undercoat Plaster is applied, followed by a Finish Coat Plaster. They offer good impact resistance and can satisfy site hardness requirements. Undercoat plasters include the following:- Bonding Coat Plaster is for low suction backgrounds such as Concrete, Plasterboard and surfaces treated with bonding agents.

Hardwall Plaster has  a high impact resistance and quicker drying surface. Tough Coat Plaster has even higher impact resistance and also gives better coverage and is suitable for a wide range of substrate backgrounds. Browning Coat Plaster is used on solid backgrounds of moderate suction and with an adequate mechanical key. Renovating Plaster is used for replastering existing plastered walls. Dri Coat Plaster is cement based and applied after the installation of a damp proof course.
