Plastic Beads

Plastic or PVCu Beads are  used within Drywall Plasterboard and Wet Plaster/Render applications to greatly reduce the time taken to form sharp corner joints, stop ends and various other architectural and aesthetic details. Plastic Beads also provide protection and strengthen fragile plaster and plasterboard edges and corners and are suitable for use in external environments. Plastic Beads are available in various colours, although the most popular is white and cream.

There are many different  types of plastic beads for many different applications and these include the following:- Plastic Angle Plaster Bead provides a defined, straight corner which in turn protects and reinforces the plaster/render. This is suitable for plaster/render thicknesses of 6-20mm. Plastic Thin Coat Angle Bead again provides a defined, straight corner which in turn protects and reinforces the plaster however this is used in conjunction with a skim coat of plaster only.

Plastic Stop Plaster Bead are used on door and window openings or at the base of wall and ceiling levels. Provides a finish and reinforces the plaster/render edges. Plastic Feature Plaster Beads which provide various types of features and details within a Plaster finish. Plastic Drywall Arch Bead  provides a reinforced corner to the plasterboard, used for forming and reinforcing the edges around an arch. Plastic Movement  Joint  Beads  are used where the underlying substrate changes or where there is movement expected below the render. Movement Joint Beads can also be used where there are changes in colour to the render. Please note movement joint beads should not be used over structural movement. Plastic  Plasterboard Edge Bead is a reversible, dual purpose plastic bead which reinforces and protects the plasterboard edge by enclosing them in a protective plastic case. Available to suit 9.5mm, 12.5mm and 15mm Plasterboard and to take a 2mm Skim Coat of Plaster.

Most plastic beads are available in a standard length of 2500mm and are available in boxes of 40, 25 or singularly depending on the bead in question..
