All calcium silicate boards including Supalux, have a high suction and thus it can be difficult to plaster. If a plaster finish is required, a sealer coat must first be applied. This should be a diluted PVA or primer coat made up of 5 parts water, 1 part PVA. A bonding coat of PVA should then be applied made up of 3 parts PVA and 1 part water, and then finally a 5mm thick skim coat of plaster should be applied while the bonding coat is still wet and sticky. If paint decoration, wallpapering or tiling to the Supalux boards is required, again a primer coat should first be applied to ensure the effective application of the required decorative finish.
