Suspended Ceiling Accessories
When your are installing your suspended ceiling you need to ensure you have the right fixings and accessories which assist you in fitting correctly.
Top Fix: What are you actually fitting your ceiling to. For concrete you need a wire hanger. This is installed by drilling a hole in the concrete then hammering in the fixing and pulling it down to ensure the item is in position. Timber: You need a vine eye or an angle bracket . This is installed by drilling a hole in the timber then twisting the vine eye, like a screw into position. Beams: you need to used a beam clip. Depending on the diemnsion of the beams the clip is hammerred on to the side of the beam.
Next step is to work out what you will hang from the clips. If its a light suspended ceiling you can use susension wire. If its a heavier ceiling you will need to use galvanised angle. Please check with the sales office first for there recomendations.
Other accessories you need to think about: Hold down clips. If you are in a room where doors are opened on a regular basis or there is a draught some tiles have a tendancy to lift up and you need to hold them down. Using a hold down clip ensures the tile is held in position at all times. Teg Blocks: When you install a tegular edge or drop down tile you may need to "re edge" the tile. This little item stops all of that and allows you to finish your ceiling with ease. Black painted batten is used if you have an uneven wall. The black paint on the batten ensures the gaps between it and the wall are hidden in the shadows. Pattresses are used to give tiles support if a downlighter is to be installed in a ceiling.
