Description

The FlipFix 1 Hour Fire Rated Plasterboard Access Panel with a Beaded Frame, engineered for seamless integration into plasterboard wall and ceiling systems. The Beaded frame allows for tape and jointing/skim-coat plastering, ensuring a professional finish. It features a Plasterboard faced door locked securely in place with a Budget lock as standard, with alternative lock options available upon request. Powder Coated RAL 9010 30% Gloss finish is standard, while custom colors are available upon request.

Designed exclusively for inspection purposes, this panel is not suitable for personnel access. It holds a 1 Hour Fire Rating for integrity up to 600x600mm in both ceiling and wall applications, tested in accordance with industry standards. However, it lacks acoustic and air pressure ratings.

Manufactured from Zintec Steel with a 0.9mm thick door and frame, installation is straightforward. Ensure a structural opening 5mm larger than the panel size, insert the panel, and tighten the FlipFix device to secure it to the plasterboard. Verify frame squareness, lock the door, and confirm a flush alignment. Before applying the plaster skim coat, it's essential to apply joint filler and scrim tape to prevent cracking. Additionally, ensure the architrave is tightly fitted against the ceiling or supporting partition to eliminate gaps. Apply Intumescent acrylic mastic around the frame edges for added sealing. This comprehensive installation ensures safety and durability for your project.
