Fire rated access panels are designed to prevent the spread of fire, smoke and hot gases when installed in walls and ceilings.
Basic fire rated panels are designed to provide up to 1-hour of fire protection. We also supply panels rated for up to 2 hours of fire resistance. These panels use layers of special insulation and fire-resistant materials inside to achieve greater fire resistance. They are available in a variety of sizes to fit walls and ceilings throughout a building.
When installed properly, fire rated access panels seal tightly to prevent smoke and fire from spreading past the barrier. They allow for access to plumbing, electrical, or HVAC systems while maintaining the fire resistance rating of the overall assembly.
Standard access panels provide quick and convenient access to utilities and other building systems located in partitions or above ceilings for repairs, maintenance and inspection work. Since they are not required to meet fire test standards, standard panels are typically more affordable than fire rated varieties.
These access panels feature durable steel or aluminium frames and door panels. The simpler construction results in a lighter panel that is easier to install than fire rated models. Non-fire rated access panels are available in various sizes to fit any required opening. The door panel is equipped with latches or locks to secure it in the closed position when access is not required. Quality non-fire rated access panels have a flush appearance for a clean, consistent look.
