Stud & Track

Metal Stud & Track

If you are looking to separate existing rooms or add extra ones in a domestic or commercial building, incorporating metal stud and track systems could be your best option.

A metal stud wall is usually constructed when building an extension, changing room layouts or for loft conversions, and is essentially a standard wall built with studs to support its structure. It is secured to the floors, ceilings and walls, and is then covered by a layer of plasterboard.

We supply metal stud and track products in a wide range of lengths, widths and dimensions. We can also provide you with appropriate stud wall accessories, including resilient bars and connectors.

Types

We can distribute any of the below products in various sizes from leading metal stud manufacturers:

Wall bracing – Wall bracing provides a stable structure that enhances the resistance of the wall.

C stud – These metal C-sections are fixed into the wall channel to friction fit before being secured into place using screws. Metal C studs can form openings for windows and doors, giving total flexibility in length. Insulated plasterboard makes an excellent choice to place into the voids before the sheets are fitted.

I stud – I studs allow for increased partition height without expanding any partitioning width. They are also impact-resistant.

Resilient bars – These are used to optimise the sound performance of metal wall systems.

U stud – The U-shaped metal sections are fixed to floors and ceilings to create the horizontal components of the metal stud wall.

Metal and timber connectors – Clips, brackets and accessories to provide support and protection of the stud wall or ceiling.

Channel track – Channels are used to secure vertical studs in wall systems.

Furring channels – These provide a solution for fixing plasterboard panels directly onto masonry.

Metal track and stud systems are easy to install and don’t require any specialist knowledge or tools. The metal track fits horizontally into the C stud framing, which is mounted vertically. The various metal stud and track sizes can also be cut easily, making construction significantly easier.
