CLS Studwork

CLS & Studwork

What is CLS timber?

CLS timber is a type of wood that became popular in Canada for building durable, strong and resilient homes that were framed with timber.

What does CLS stand for?

It stands for Canadian Lumber Standard timber. CLS wood is ideal for internal stud walls and partitioning.

CLS is a type of softwood that’s surfaced on all four sides, all with a clear finish. We stock both C16 timber and C24 timber which refer to the strength class to which this timber has been graded. C16 and C24 graded timber are set by the European Standard BS EN519. This type of CLS and carcassing planks have been stamped with the relevant stress grading after the timber has been put through a bending machine.

We have a wide range of CLS sizes available, ranging from widths of 75mm to 100mm and lengths of 2400mm to 4800mm.
