Saws are one of the most classic and widely-used DIY tools around. Typically utilised for chopping wood, many can cut other materials too. A saw typically consists of a tough blade or chain with a hard-toothed edge, with the cut made by placing the edge on the material and moving it back and forward. There are many types out of saws there, from bow saws and hack saws, to circular saws and chain saws. For example, the bow saw is among the most common and features a metal-framed, bow-shaped handle with a coarse wide blade. This type is commonly used to cut wood, unlike the hack saw, which is used for metal instead. Meanwhile, a circular saw has a disc-shaped blade and is adept at making curved cuts, while a chainsaws is an electric-powered saw regularly used to cut down trees and other big pieces of wood.
